Replacing the gasket with the motor in the car was still a bunch easier than doing the gasket and the pump which is what i was forced to do here last fall. Had a local shop do it and was between 300 and 400 dollars including the ford oem pan gasket and oil change after they were finished. If you use a 1 piece gasket, and drop the pan down, rinse all the oil out of the sump with brakleen, you can tie fine wire to a bolt hole on the gasket on either side, and fish it around the pump and pickup.
